I graduated from New England School of Acupuncture (now Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences) in Boston with a Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine. Years later I got my doctoral degree (Doctor in Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine) with Pacific College of Oriental Medicine now called Pacific College of Health & Sciences located in San Diego California. I have been in private practice since 2001.
In my past professional life, I was a Registered Nurse and had worked as Operating Room Nurse, Nephrology Nurse, Pediatric ICU Nurse and Public Health Nurse.
As a Doctor in Acupuncture I see patients with multiple medical issues such as chronic pain not relieved by analgesics, Osteoarthritis , IBS, Infertility, FMS, Insomnia & Depression, Anxiety, Allergy, Female problems, GERD, Bell’s Palsy, Parkinson’s , TMJ, PTSD, Neuropathy, Raynaud’s, MS. I also see cancer patients taking aromatase inhibitor medications after they finished their chemotherapy & radiation treatment. I use Master Tung’s Acupuncture and Dr. Richard Tan’s Global Balancing system of acupuncture. I also prescribe & dispense Chinese herbs. My professor in Boston once said that acupuncture & herbology is like husband & wife, they work together & cannot be separated.
I believe in providing a safe, competent, and compassionate quality patient care by respecting patient values and preferences. I believe that health and wellness can really be achieved by good/correct nutrition, exercise, stress management and balanced state of mind. I believe that combining Asian medicine with western medicine provides the most comprehensive treatment and enable the patient not to be dependent on prescription medication especially opioids thus giving them a better quality of life.
